Aim of the Tamburica Uzlop is the preservation and the fostering of the Burgenland-Croatian tamburica music, the folk songs, the folkdances as well as the preservation and fostering of the independence of the Burgenland-Croatian language, the customs and the culture of the Croat ethnic group in Burgenland.
In the past considerable work has been done in this field. New costumes has been made by using old templates, old songs rediscovered, choreographies created based on old steps and customs, plays written and performed in Croatian – all this is still a commitment for us furthermore.
But also modern, contemporary ideas must be part of our work, old has to be connected with new to gain a new creative tension internal and to master this challenge in public.
